An ISIS Public Forum on “Militant Islam and Middle East Turmoil: Lessons From and Implications For Southeast Asia”,09.00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Friday, 6th February 2015
I have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in a public forum on “Militant Islam and Middle East Turmoil: Lessons From and Implications For Southeast Asia”. Details of the program and a reply form are attached. The forum will be held during 09.00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Friday, 6th February 2015, with registration from 08.30 a.m. The venue is The Chumbhot-Pantip Conference Room, 4th Floor Prajadhipok-Rambhaibarni Building, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. Instability in the Middle East continues to threaten regional security and global order. The effects of the rise of the militant Islamist movements, ongoing religious and sectarian conflicts and interstate tensions in the Middle East are consequential for Thailand and Southeast Asia more broadly. We will examine the implications from militant Islam in the Middle East for Southeast Asia and look at possible lessons from moderate Muslim countries of this region for the Middle East. We hope you will be able to join us. Please kindly note that free parking is limited. However, we have a new public parking building nearby at the Faculty of Political Science Entrance Gate that charges a very small fee. For confirmation of your participation and further information, please contact ISIS staff by telephone at 02.218.7432/3, fax 02.254.0119 or e-mail isisthailand@gmail.com
