กิจกรรมโต้วาที McCain VS Obama
วันศุกร์ที่ 29 สิงหาคม 2551 ลานหน้าห้องสมุด
คณะรัฐศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย
เนื่องจากปีนี้เป็นปีครบรอบความสัมพันธ์ไทย-สหรัฐฯ
175 ปี
และเป็นปีที่สหรัฐอเมริกาจะมีการเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดีคนที่ชมรมอเมริกันศึกษาจึงเห็นว่าเป็นวาระโอกาสที่ดีในการจัดกิจกรรม
เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์และสร้างความรู้และความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับเหตุการณ์ทั้งสองแก่นิสิตรัฐศาสตร์
จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย
ซึ่งเป็นผู้ที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องทางด้านวิชาการโดยตรง
อีกทั้งเพื่อให้สมาชิกในชมรมเอง
ได้มีโอกาสในการเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับสหรัฐอเมริกาในเชิงสร้างสรรค์และประยุกต์ความร่วมมือระหว่างกันจนเกิดกิจกรรมในวันดังกล่าว
ทั้งนี้ กิจกรรมที่จะเกิดขึ้นนั้น ได้แก่
การรับประทานอาหารรูปแบบอเมริกัน,
การแสดงดนตรีสไตล์อเมริกัน
และปิดท้ายด้วยการโต้วาทีระหว่างทีมตัวแทนนาย

ผู้ลงสมัครชิงตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐจากพรรครีพับลิกัน
และทีมตัวแทนนาย Barack Obama
ผู้ลงสมัครชิงตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐจากพรรคเดโมแครต
โดยกิจกรรมทั้งหมดจัดในวันที่ 29 สิงหาคม 2551
